The Daycare Diaries – Week 1

Welcome to The Daycare Diaries. The 2^nd in my series of stories following a Sim through a Job or Profession with no cheats!

This story is set in Appaloosa Plains and our star has just moved into this lovely house The Madison.

So, shall we meet our stars?

Say hello to Autumn Saffron, the chosen one, who will be endeavouring to reach Level 5 in the Daycare profession.

Let’s take a look at her traits and such shall we.

Traits – Friendly, Nurturing, Artistic, Charismatic and Childish

Faves – P & J Sandwiches, Kids, Irish Green

Lifetime Wish – Super Popular

Helping Autumn on her journey are my cats. This is Psyche (sigh – key)

Traits – Hunter, Friendly and Proud

And Jet.

Traits – Friendly, Hyper and Playful

After buying all the essentials needed to keep two very high maintenance pets (they are the same here as they are in real life!) Autumn starts her first week with the following stats:

WEEK 1

Simolians – 66 (argghhh!)

Daycare Level - 0

DAY 1 - SUNDAY

I started Autumn off painting as she desperately needed money.

Jet was attacking the wall toy

While Psyche checked that they had enough food

It wasn’t long before the usual group of nosey neighbours arrived to check out the new arrivals!

What better way to meet new friends than a group meal. Luckily Autumn didn’t poison anyone.

And of course a game of Tag with Calvin Riffin to help burn off those lettuces leaves!

Once her guests had gone it was skill building all round as Autumn got back to her painting and reached Painting Level 1.

Psyche practiced hunting

And Jet scratched in the right place for once!

DAY 2 – MONDAY

The day did not start well with Autumn burning her waffles. However this did take her to Cooking Level 1.

She also managed to finish and sell her painting reaching Painting level 2.

With only a few simolians left it was time to get a job.

Autumn starts the Daycare career at Level 1 – Amateur Babysitter

After spending the day cleaning ready for her first charges to arrive the next day. Autumn headed over to Calvin’s who had invited her to his party.

And while the owner is away…

They love each other really :/

Autumn spent a great evening at Calvin’s party and became best friends with Calvin.

DAY 3 – TUESDAY

Autumn waited nervously for the kids to arrive. One wrong move and her Daycare career could be ruined by Social Services.

And here they are! Dakota Fox (with bunny) and Nicholas Joiner.

Autumn made sure both kids were clean and fed

Then read to Dakota

Taught Nicholas walking skills

And taught talking skills to Dakota.

The parents came to collect their little ones and Autumn got a Great score for her day’s work.

Jet learned the Non-Destructive trait – well she learns quicker than those kids! They learn so much slower than normal Sim kids!!

After an exhausting day Autumn just had time to fulfil her basic needs before heading to bed.

DAY 4 - WEDNESDAY

Autumn was just making breakfast (reaching Cooking Level 2!) when Dakota and Nicholas appeared. Her need bars were low and my hands were beginning to twitch towards the cheat keys already!

So she quickly got them both fed

And cleaned up

Before plonking them down with some toys so she could finish her pancakes.

Psyche and Jet, starved of attention by their mum actually started being nice to each other!

Many hours of bored hungry toddlers and dirty nappies Nicholas was finally collected.

However Dakota’s parents were running late!

Autumn phoned Calvin for some moral support before heading back into the living room.

Dakota did not seem interested in learning to talk today!

His father finally arrived and Autumn got an extra 109 Simolians for her extra time and a promotion!

Autumn is now Daycare Level 2 – Cool Care Giver

By this time Autumn was near exhaustion! She had some leftover salad but the sink broke as she tried to wash up.

After a failed attempt at repair, even though she had reached handiness level 1. Autumn headed for bed

At least Jet was enjoying the puddle!

DAY 5 – THURSDAY

Autumn awoke to find the sink had flooded most of the kitchen.

So she set about fixing the leak

And managed to get the floor cleaned up before the kids arrived

Here is her new Level 2 Daycare outfit!

With the new promotion came new responsibility in the shape of Taurus Fox

And so began her first day with 3 kids to care for

They were all demanding her attention

Autumn was becoming proficient at the claw and tickle moves

But it was all too much for Autumn and she had to take a nap half way through the day!

The cats had destroyed their scratching post!

Despite falling asleep, Autumn managed to wake up and have the kids happy and cheery for their parents to collect them and received another Great report.

As she headed to the dustbin with the remnants of yet another hairball. The sky went dark. Autumn ran to the edge of her garden.

Just in time as a meteor hit just where she had been standing!

!!!

Thankfully no-one was hurt

But the garden was on fire!

Who knew that grass could burn so well!

Autumn called the fire department and then set about trying to extinguish the flames as she waited for them to arrive.

They eventually turned up and put out the fires

And then told autumn to be more careful! She did apologise and assure them that next time a meteor was about to hit she would magically transport her home and garden to safety.

I mean really!
